Think about driving. Human-brain-powered Honda

Human thought operates Honda’s clever new robot – BBC Top Gear

Honda can’t run a successful Formula One team but it can, it seems, create the world’s first Brain Machine Interface (BMI) system that allows a person to control a robot through thought alone.

The technology in place to make the robot boogie tends to give us a head-spin. The system measures the brain’s electrical activity using electroencephalography (EEG) and blood flow using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to produce data that is then interpreted into control information.

As a result, the system can distinguish brain activities with high precision and without any physical motion.
